ACT! By Sage 2010 – A First Review

The latest incarnation of the popular Sage ACT! Sales and marketing software was released in September 2009. But what are the 3 million people are waiting for stocks? Well, a lot, 'really. This is more of a gradual release with some added features and some fixes. This is a radical reform will bring a new look and a series of new marketing tools. Installation and registration have been simplified, and now you can choose a "typical" or "Custom" install. Fortunately, it is now also able to choose your location and currency you want to use, even if it is then hard coded and can not be changed later.

New welcome page first difference is the new look. When I came to the ACT! 2010 (pronounced "Twenty-ten" We're sure) you're rewarded with a "welcome page" beautiful green swirly bits to make you feel happier and remind you of the other parts of the Sage software, you can be on your computer. On the same page is a lot of potentially useful shortcut keys that allow objects, web sites, manuals in PDF, or in different parts of the schedule. These are grouped into categories like home, how, what's new in ACT! 2010, Tuning, support and services such as ACT! news. We also have a new "Big Easy" buttons (very pleased that Sage's marketing department has been gainfully employed for a dream that one up) and the main functions, and completely redesigned the navigation "navbar" on the left.

New NavBar reformed "navbar" is to the left of the screen, but now includes links to groups in your address book, companies, etc., as before, but also the "Related Tasks" section, which displays links to the things that should do. The proposals vary depending on which screen is displayed. NavBar can be minimized to save screen space, if you use ACT! a small monitor, such as ultra-portable or netbook. I've been running the netbook Resolution 1024 x 600 and is perfectly usable, if a bit 'tight. A key feature re-design is also reflected in the ever-present NavBar and research. The searches are what people usually do not find the information on ACT! The search window now is always present and a nice touch is that the default is that the field contains "what you're looking than the regular" start ". NavBar is also customizable so you can add and delete icons and change their order
